Our Story
We Met...
On April 16, 2016, Emily accepted an invite to a concert and ended up at a pre-party at Rodney's DTLA loft. Had she not been at a Dodgers game earlier in the day, Emily and Rodney's paths never would have crossed. Despite Rodney's awkward first impression and Emily's repeated attempts to play matchmaker for him, they did share one memorable dance at the show. They went their separate ways that night but Emily accidentally left her debit card behind, sparking a series of conversations that led to their first date—and the beginning of their love story.
We Fell in Love...
After a successful first date at another concert, this time at the Hollywood Bowl, Emily and Rodney's connection grew deeper. They met each other's families, built countless memories at concerts and festivals, and supported one another through life's milestones. They moved into their first home, advanced in their careers, became the proud parents of their beloved dog, Coraline, and dreamed about their future together, including marriage—something Rodney hadn't envisioned before meeting Emily.
We’re Getting Married...
In August 2023, Rodney knew he was going to propose to Emily in Croatia. He wanted it to be perfect, but facing a whirlwind of mishaps and unpredictable hurdles, he realized that perfect moments aren't planned—they're made. He dropped to his knee, asked the love of his life to marry him, and Emily said "Yes!" Now, they can't wait to celebrate this next chapter surrounded by their loved ones.
